Pesto Pesto - Review

Heyya peeps!
So, I was invited a while back by a dear friend, Tarun, to visit this restaurant promising great ambiance. A part of Grandeur Hotels, Pesto Pesto is paving way for some fabulous Italian fare and well, I just had to pay a visit!
I am a lover of World Cuisine and I find delight in different variations of food items from places around the world. I arrived along with my brother around 1 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon and was surprised to find the place fairly crowded considering I was early, so I suggest you make your reservations for the best tables beforehand.
PS: Yup, my brother usually accompanies me, all for his love for food and oh! he can be a really good critic too!
The place had a clean, classy and warm decor with wooden frames supporting large glass windows which added a slight hint of romance to the ambiance (I hope the couples out there read this, haha!)

I had these two courteous servers, Amar Rao and SK. They seemed to have a lot of patience since I made them wait till I get a few pictures of the dishes, to show you guys, of course, and then they served us the food! Lol.

Moving on, I gave our servers the liberty to get us some mocktails (Yes, I have to set some Good Girl example for my younger brother, isnt it? Hence not even wine or sangria! Haha! ) We were given,

Coconut Mind: Refreshing use of coconut milk and optimum amount of tangyness made for a sweet and sour drink. It was a tad bit too sweet. But then again, I am not fond of anything sweet so maybe thats why. A good option to the regular juices offered else where.

Orange Calling: It was a burst of citrus-y flavours in your mouth. It was sweet and sour again, but more of a tangy, sour dominant taste and flavour. Yummy, specially on a hot summer day.

So my friend Tarun sat down with the chef the previous night and made a list of 'must-try' dishes for me and I stuck by it along with some Chef's Recommendations that I took while ordering. Do call for Chef Prakash Joshi to recommend some favorited dishes.

Polpette Spinaci Alla Cream: Balls of really creamy stuffing with fresh cheese and spinach as a filling. It was well cooked and was served with a warm and cheesey dip with softly cooked spinach.

Pollo Di Falco: It was well presented and pan fried to perfection. Chunks of chicken sauteed in fresh garlic, onions, herbs. It was accompanied by a creamy dip with capers. The creamy accompaniment cuts down and minimizes the garlic-y flavour slightly and the dip serves its true purpose here.
TIP: If you're on a date- Avoid (read: Garlic) haha! But it would be a real miss if so! ;)

Tortellini Di Pollo: I am a huge fan of pastas, specially *stuffed ones like, Ravioli, Tortellini, Cannelloni, Manicotti and such types.
*Stuffed pastas are like little steamed parcels stuffed with fresh cheese like ricotta and spinach, minced meat and sometimes pine nuts too.

This was a dish with 'home made' soft pasta parcels stuffed with minced chicken, cooked in a thick, creamy sauce, prepared along with broccoli (love!), zucchini, fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme, assorted mushrooms and heaps of cheese. Delicious.

Pesto Pesto Pizza: Our pizza was half veggie one and half non-veggie one so do check with your servers if you can customize. Ours was a mix of Contadino/Emiliana. One half had slices of chicken, parma ham & generously topped pepperoni. The other half had olives, broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, herbs and artichokes. It had a base of pesto sauce which was really unique. My brother flipped! So Yummy!

Tiramisu: The coffee flavour was dominant and yet not over-powering unlike many other places. It was light with a melt-in-the-mouth consistency and was served rather prettily with coffee powder sprinkled on top.

I give a Thumbs-Up to this place for a great dinner outing with that special someone or a family night out! ;)
