Travel Tips For Disneyland Paris

Hi Lovelies!!
So a lot of friends and Instafam peeps asked me the top things to do in Disneyland so I thought I'd do an entire post on it! :)
Now, Disneyland is huggggeeeee and it's really tough to cover the entire property in a day. I hear of people taking Two Day passes etc but since I only had a day to check it out, I thought I'll put down a few things one MUST do their visit to the famous Disneyland, Paris!!

First of all, I have to mention that losing my phone in Italy while I was on a trip all by myself was just awful as I lost ALL my pictures from Disneyland since I had not carried my bulky camera on my trip there and was relying on my phone camera entirely! :( But, I did manage to ask some of my Hostel friends to email me the pictures we took of the place while we were there so thank God for that! So lets get started!!

How to Get there?
There are many options available like bus service, Disneyland combo tickets also offer pick up and drop with the ticket itself, renting a car or the good old metro line. I think the cheapest is the metro of course. As I was staying at the 3-Ducks Hostel on Rue Du Commerce, the metro was very accessible. It was about 2 minutes walking distance from my hostel and from there I basically bought a ticket that cost me a total of approx 14-15 euros for the entire one way trip . I caught the line 8 metro till Opera where I switched to line A and Marne La Vallee was the last stop.I may be wrong due to my poor memory skills but the people at the Subway station ticket counters were very helpful and even drew the entire line i had to follow on my map so I don't get lost! Follow the same route back but be careful of the timings as the last train out is probably 1:00am and the closing parade begins around 12:00am so be sure not to miss the last train out or you could be stuck there for a night lol!

What to Wear?
Wear comfortable clothing as you will be going on rides and walking around all day. The last thing you would want is to feel uncomfortable. Wear jeans or shorts. Preferably jeans as it gets cold post evening. Wear a cute t shirt. I suggest pick up a souvenir Mickey tee and wear that there itself! Most importantly, wear sneakers!!

What to Carry?
I suggest not to carry water as you would have to refill through the day anyway. But then again, there are many places to fill your bottles so a medium sized bottle that won't add to much back pack weight should be good to go. Carry sunglasses, as the weather in Paris is super erratic. Carrying a portable foldable umbrella would also be wise! Carry a jacket as you will be there till night and it tends to get quite chilly on the way back. Protein bars as munchies as all the walking around gets you hungry & its quite expensive to always buy something to eat. Portable chargers, selfie sticks etc as long as its in your bag and not in pockets etc during rides. Tissues or wet wipes in case. These are just the basic things apart from which you can stuff your bag as long as you're okay to carry around the weight whole day!

Rides to Not Miss?
-Space Mountain all the wayyyy! It was my favourite ride ever! Although I was shitting bricks and for a micro second I probably thought I was going to Die haha, it was an amazing ride nonetheless!
-Pirates of the Carribean was awesome too! It was amazingly done up on the inside!
-Phantom Manor was the not so typical haunted house ride of any amusement park . It had a story to the ghost, was super fun & not that scary which worked for me lol!
-La Taniere Du Dragon was a walk through ride with great visuals of a Dragon etc.
-Orbitron gave a great view of the place during the day or night.
-Indiana Jones ride was scary like the space mountain one so go for it if you enjoy the thrills!
-Pinnochio ride was awesome and slightly dark so it was creepy, but fun.
-Carrousel as one cannot miss sitting on the carrousel when in Paris haha!
Don't miss the day parades & keep the map handy!

What to Eat there?
There are tons and tons of options for snacks or lunch / dinner and I was honestly confused. The specials or offers from each restaurant is displayed outside the restaurant on a blackboard stand but that is hardly the deal breaker. You need to just decide what you prefer to eat on the spot I guess. Well, funnily I was missing Indian spices and RICE (Being Super Bengali Ughsss) so I chose to go in for a delicious fast food meal at Hakuna Matata Restaurant. I landed up ordering beef meat balls curry which actually had an African sauce. It was spicy & was accompanied with rice (Yumm haha!). I mean as Indian as I could get right? Curry & Rice? Hahahah! Don't forget to try the sweet caramelised green apples on a stick and the delicious fro yo / ice cream with the mickey stamped waffle topping!

How to Book the tickets?
I had a friend book the tickets for me but this website should be of help: www.dlpguide.com
I advise pre booking as there are attractive offers as opposed to buying on the spot at the venue. I advise taking the two day pass if possible as one day was not enough for me. There are skip the line / fast passes available to avoid the long queues and trust me it would be worth it as the lines were so long for every ride!

What to Buy?
There are tons of merchandise stores selling amazing goodies in case you wish to take back some souvenirs. I went a little crazy and bought key chains, mugs, soup bowls, fridge magnets, the famous Minnie Mouse ears hairband etc There is something for every pocket trust me!
What I recommend are the cute fridge magnets specially the ones with a photoframe to put an image inside, or the t shirts which are super cute!

Hope you enjoyed the post just as much as  I enjoyed reliving the memories!
Till next time,
Lots of Love,
-M
xoxo
